The Red Lion Badlesmere - Country Pub in Kent

The Red Lion at Badlesmere was built in 1546, during the reign of Henry VIII. It was originally used as a farm dwelling and became an inn in 1728, purchasing ale from Issac Miles, a brewer from Faversham. The pub is a freehouse and stocks beers from all over the United Kingdom. We are proud to support local breweries, such as Shepherd Neame, Hopdaemon, Westerham, Old Dairy and Ramsgate.
 


The Red Lion is a traditional country pub, easily found on the Ashford Road (A251) and surrounded by beautiful Kent countryside.
 There are many excellent public footpaths and bridleways in its vicinity.
 


In addition to offering a delicious selection of home cooked food, the Red Lion is a well-reputed music venue able to host the best local bands in the area. As such, we can happily cater for all types of functions and parties.
  


We provide rustic camping facilities in the pub paddocks and wi-fi use is free to all our customers.

Opening Times
We open at 12 noon every day and stay open until evening close. We close on Mondays with the exception of Bank Holiday Mondays 
Food
We serve food every lunch time from 12noon to 2.30pm and in the evenings from 6.45pm until 9.00pm (except Sunday evening)

We offer a selection of local  real ales and our wine list includes a fine selection of New and Old World wines provided by the country'sleading wine importers.

In addition to the main menu below, our daily specials are increasingly popular. For example, fillet of pork stuffed with sausage & apricot, homemade rabbit pie, venison & wild mushroom ragu with fresh spaghetti & fillet of hake with sundried tomato butter
